Max the Lab Mix from Toronto

Hi, my name is Max and I'm a Chocolate Lab/Springer Spaniel mix from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My brother and I used to live in Savannah, Georgia, until our owner became terminally ill. We were given to a relative, but then sent to the pound. We were then taken in by a rescue organization and bounced around to different foster homes before our new mommy adopted us and brought us to Canada, where we joined 3 more brothers to make a pack of 5. I'm an easygoing, adaptable guy. I love car rides, playing fetch, and lying down in any pool of water I can find. Whenever I wake up from a nap, or when someone comes home, I grab whatever I can and put it in my mouth, whether it's a shoe, the mail, or a grocery bag. I can't help it, I get excited.

Johnny the Lab Mix from Toronto

Hi, my name is Johnny and I am a lab mix from Toronto. I just turned a year old. Mommy found me in the middle of the street. She located my owner, but he had tossed me out on purpose. She tried to find me a new home, but after a week she fell in love with me. I joined her 4 other dogs (all boys), and it was really chaotic at first. I wasn't the easiest to train, but at 9PM every night I go to bed all by myself. I love chew toys and car rides and everything else that dogs love. I am very happy that Mommy decided to keep me!

Vash the Lab Mix from North Carolina

Hi, my name is Vash and I am a lab/pit mix from North Carolina. Daddy came to the shelter looking for a dog, and as he tells it, a "skinny little gold dog" got his attention. I came when he called me and put my head in his lap. He took me home, and I am proud to be his first dog. I'm not skinny anymore, I'm actually rather burly at 65 lbs. Dad says we have a deep connection that he can't describe. I want him to know I think he's pretty great, too.

Lucy Latte the Poodle Mix Puppy

Hi everyone! My name is Lucy Latte and I'm a poodle mix puppy. I'm little and fluffy and I have lots of energy. Mommy calls me the "Energizer Puppy"! I'm learning how to not chew on the wrong things, to potty in the right spot, and how to use my cuteness to get lots of attention.

Our Dog Punky's DNA Test Results

I mentioned that we were eagerly awaiting the results of Punky and Rascal's Canine Heritage Breed Tests, and I'm happy to report that Punky's are in!

First of all, we were completely shocked. Probably just as shocked as Pete's parents. For 10 years, Punky's whole life, we've been calling her a Lab mix. But she's not a Lab at all!

It turns out that Punky is a serious mutt. No breeds came up as primary or secondary for her, but the test did show German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Cocker Spaniel, and Irish Setter.

Now we're seeing her in a totally new light. This has been such a fun, exciting process. We were literally racing to the mailbox every day to check for the results (and we still are, for Rascal's). We have already said that every time we get a new dog for the rest of our lives, we're having it DNA tested.
